Deputies warn of robber targeting elderly in Victorville

Victorville, CA - Sheriff's deputies say two elderly people have been robbed in the last two months upon returning home from grocery shopping trips in Victorville.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies didn't specify if they believe the same person committed both robberies, but said the circumstances were similar.

The robberies occurred on May 25 and June 16, one in the 15700 block of Candlewood Drive and the other in the 16200 block of Camelback Drive.

Both victims had just returned home from grocery shopping. They shopped at different locations, deputies said. When they got out of their cars, the robber approached them and demanded their purse or wallet.

One of the victims fought to hold onto her purse and was attacked by the robber.
